Print Requirements

Prepare your PDF correctly before uploading. Our print partner processes files automatically — but print quality depends on your source file.

01

File format

A single PDF containing all pages including the cover. PDF version 1.4 or higher.

02

Resolution

Minimum 220 DPI. 300 DPI strongly recommended for sharp results. Low-resolution images will appear blurry in print.

03

Colour profile

Use RGB. CMYK files are accepted but automatically converted to RGB. Do not use spot colours.

04

Bleed & crop marks

Do not add them. Our print partner adds bleed and crop marks automatically based on the format you choose at checkout.

05

Page layout

Single pages only. Page 1 = front cover. Page 2 = first interior page, right-hand side. Inside covers are blank and not in the PDF. Last page = back cover.

06

Margins

At least 10 mm clear space on all edges. On the cover, allow at least 20 mm near the spine edge.

07

Fonts

All fonts must be embedded in the PDF. Non-embedded fonts may be substituted or cause errors.

08

Transparencies

Flatten all transparencies before exporting. Unflattened transparencies can produce unexpected results.

09

Page count

Softcover books: 20-300 pages. Must be even. Odd page count = white back cover.

Tip: exporting from common tools

Canva, Google Slides, PowerPoint, InDesign, and Affinity Publisher all support PDF export. Choose "High quality" or "Print quality" and enable "Embed fonts". If your tool offers PDF/X-1a or PDF/X-3, use it.
